Jeffrey Dahmer’s glasses are now up for sale. But will Ghost Adventure’s Zak Bagans acquire the glasses owned by the serial killer? The Dahmer glasses are owned by Taylor James of Cult Collectibles in Vancouver, Canada. He recently told TMZ that he would sell the glasses for $150,000.
The eyeglasses were worn in prison by the infamous serial killer. Taylor James indicated that he purchased the Dahmer glasses from a former housekeeper for Jeffrey Dahmer’s father. Many of the items can be purchased through his Cult Collectibles website.
Zak Bagans owns The Haunted Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada. The Haunted Museum is where Bagans displays numerous haunted items for the public to view. He has acquired Ed Gein’s cauldron, a painting from Charles Manson’s cremated ashes, Dr. Jack Kevorkian’s death van, The Devil’s Rocking Chair, Bela Lugosi’s mirror, and much more.
Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum could be the perfect home for Jeffrey Dahmer’s glasses. The museum is already home to Ted Bundy’s glasses. Bagans purchased the glasses Ted Bundy wore as a disguise from police at an auction for $50,000.
With the recent release of Netflix’s Damher, there has been a renewed interest in Jeffrey Dahmer collectibles. Dahmer was a serial killer and sex offender that murdered and dismembered seventeen men and boys between 1978 and 1991. He was killed beaten to death by a fellow inmate, Christoper Scarver, at Columbia Correctional Institution in Portage, Wisconsin.
While Jeffrey Dahmer’s glasses seem like the ideal addition to Zak Bagans’ The Haunted Museum, it is doubtful that Zak Bagans will acquire them.
After the announcement that Cult Collectibles was willing to sell Jeffrey Dahmer’s glasses, Zak Bagans tweeted that he had decided not to acquire them. Zak tweeted, “Yes, those Dahmer glasses have been sent my way many times during the last couple years and we had trouble authenticating them for the museum through extensive photo-matching. We also decided to not acquire them.”

The difference between the Jeffrey Dahmer glasses and Ted Bundy’s glasses is that Ted Bundy’s glasses could be easily authenticated. Zak Bagans purchased Ted Bundy’s glasses from Jerry Thompson’s wife, the spouse of a detective who worked the Ted Bundy case. Crime scene photos could easily authenticate the glasses because police caught Ted Bundy with them in 1975 when they pulled over the serial killer.
Apparently, the chain of custody for Jeffrey Dahmer’s glasses is not as clear. If these glasses were owned by Jeffrey Dahmer in prison, it would be increasingly difficult to authenticate them. The only photos that Jeffrey Dahmer could have taken in prison would be visitation photos, mugshots, or media interviews. Prison regulations would also prohibit Dahmer from owning numerous pairs of glasses at once. It’s unclear how many pairs of glasses Dahmer would have owned in prison and where the glasses would be now.
With a price of $150,000, no one could blame Zak Bagans for not acquiring an item that couldn’t fully be authenticated. However, Cult Collectibles does have Jeffrey Dahmer’s urn for sale. I wonder if something is attached to that and if Zak has tried to acquire and authenticate the urn.
